As we strive here to create the infrastructure necessary for the self-sufficient communities there are daily needs for assistance with food and water, healthcare, education, orphan and vulnerable children care, agriculture programs, Bible/Discipleship Training and church leadership development. Living in the midst of all this, we try to assess best how to use every dollar in the most effective way. Nevertheless, at any time you can direct your funds to a project of your choice.
The burden of collecting water falls on the women and children of a village. Many have to walk miles to the nearest source which might be a stagnant pool or polluted river. Light of Hope Missions is working with local churches and schools to solve this problem by digging, providing pumps and helping to maintain wells around Kenya communities. Costs range from $1,000 for a hand dug well to support several families to $10,000 for a deep drilled borehole to give water for a whole community. Pastor Moses said, “Giving water is a great tool for evangelism in our community. People literally come right up to the gate of our ministry and we get to share about the Living Water.”

Each year, thousands are infected with malaria by one little mosquito bite. Nearly 90% of the lethal cases of malaria concern children under 5 years and expectant mothers. Through our local network, Light of Hope Missions train and distribute bed nets treated with natural insecticide. The cost to save a life is only $10.

Livestock for Light of Hope Shambani
Light of Hope Missions is building a farm in Bidii, Kenya in order to provide food and milk for the children in our programs. Presently we are cultivating five acres of land with maize and beans with an additional three acres for farm animals. As the farm moves forward we are purchasing livestock for the farm such as cows, goats, and donkeys. A $100 gift can provide a goat or a calf, $400 can buy a donkey to help carry water, while $600 can buy a milk cow. Bibles for New Believers
God’s Word in Kiswahili
Most believers in Kenya do not own their own copy of the Bible in their own language. If we want people to trust in Jesus and to grow as disciples, it is important for them to have a personal copy of His Word to study at home. To give a Bible is to give a gift that will bring eternal returns. Each Bible only costs $10.

Train and Equip a Pastor/Leader
Train and Equip a Pastor Evangelist
The goal of Light of Hope Missions is to build up the body of Christ while we meet physical needs in various communities. In order to do that, we partner with two local Bible schools that train pastors. We believe that these local men of God who already know the customs, language and traditions of their village are the most capable person to reach their communities for Christ. The program is a 2 year course load where students learn doctrine, and are taught how to run and grow a church. For $500 you can provide training for a pastor for the whole 2 year course. He will leave Bible school with a deeper understanding of God and the tools to reach people with the truth of God’s love.
Suggested Gift: $500 for 2 year course

MotorBikes for Pastors
Many pastors walk miles from their home to their churches, to visit church members or to shop in the village center. Many travel by foot to other remote villages to start new works. Light of Hope Missions wishes to help by providing bicycles for these pastors. For $1000, we can provide a motorbike capable of handling the rough terrain and access into remote places where cars cannot access to spread the gospel.

Light of Hope Missions has an on-going commitment to aiding Pastors to acquire land and build simple church buildings. For as little as $5,000 you can help give a permanent place of worship to a rural church in Kenya and Africa. These open air structures are a great starting point for a village congregation who can then raise funds to complete the buildings and have real ownership of the final result.
